A LITTLE BIT OF THIS AND A LITTLE BIT OF THAT

Lovely of you to stop by! I hope you and your loved ones had a lovely Thanksgiving and hope you didn't get trampled during Black Friday!

I know it's been a few days since my last post. So sorry! So much going on, my darling daughter and SIL moved to a townhouse across the bay; so this place was turned upside down and of course all during the week of Thanksgiving (crikey!). Between making a few trips over and back and preparing the turkey feast, it's been a bit frantic.

Yeppers, I managed to cook a 20+ pound turkey and all the fixins in my teeny tiny kitchen ha!

It's a juggling act; organization is an absolute must or it's disaster! ha!

WOOD FRAME MAKEOVERS ~ SILVER LEAF, RUB N BUFF, SILVER SPRAY PAINT

Hello! So lovely of you stop by! So glad you decided to visit with me! Are you ready for fall?! Moi, not really. We've been enjoying a lovely Indian Summer here in the SF Peninsula. I've been fluttering about seeing all the wonderful project you've been working on! Fabulous!

What have I been up to? Well, I've been working on a number of smaller projects over the past month, from sparkly hearts and wreaths to redoing my wood frames. It's the frames we are going to talk about today.

A few months back I posted that I wanted to redo my living room. I am so over the gaudy gold. I know, I know, some of you out there love it; and I've loved it too....but I am so over it and so into the beauty of silver.

Click here to view the original post of the redo plans (it will open in new window so you won't lose this page).

ANTIQUES AND COLLECTABLES ~ ALAMEDA ANTIQUE AND COLLECTABLE FAIR

Once again I must preface with...you gotta KNOW me by now! I'm gonna muck it up some how! So here is the how.

My darling son-in-law bought me a memory thingy for my camera that allows me take 300 photos instead of just 25-35. Yippee! I'm all set...yes?! Ummm nope, I forgot to check the battery and the rest of my afternoon went something like this:

GASP at something so amazingly fabulous....quickly reach into my purse for the camera, then (insert expletive of your choice). *sigh* :(

I did manage the first 4 rows of the left side of the faire only! So here we go...

Never found out how much this chandy is, but I so heart it!

BARGIN HUNTING & $50.00 TARGET STORE GIVEAWAY

I hope everyone had a lovely Easter! The weather was horrid here, windy and raining buckets. We've had loads more rain the past 2 weeks, it's definitely messing up my furniture painting schedule.

So no furniture to show you yet. But a bit of progress on the living room project.

On one raining day I stopped into Joanne's fabric and found this in their remnants aisle....

IS YOUR PAGE HEADER TIRED?.......

I just had to share this with you!

As most of you know, Monkey Head Fred was home for spring break to work on my agenda (painting furniture). Well, it turns out we did work on an agenda, just not mine! ha!

Due to the unfortunate turn of events a few months back, (you can view post here), I've been trying to find a way to put my creative juices to work. This is what was proposed to me; and of course me, being forever the adventurer, I decided to give it a go.

I am so pleased and so excited to announce the launch of our new online service.

Taking a bit of liberty with a double entendre, we have settled with...

My Custom Page Headers

The "My" being the double entendre ha!

THE LIGHTER SIDE OF EASTER.....

My son is back on campus and left me with a long Mama-do list.

Instead of starting on his list, I decided I needed material for my Pink Saturday post...and lookie what I won't be posting this coming Saturday!

I'll start you off a bit easy *snickering*

"They'll never find me in here!"

WHICH STORE WOULD YOU RATHER RECEIVE A GIFT CARD FOR? TAKE THE SURVEY!

I have met so many wonderful, talented, creative, kind, generous, witty, thoughtful people since I began blogging last May!

I'm so excited! I have reached 300+ fabulous followers! I never dreamed that my creations, tutorials, makeovers, bunglings and ramblings would be of interest to anyone! Let alone having anyone come back for more!

I feel like Sally Fields! You like me!! You really like me! *happy dance*

Photobucket

I'd like to show my appreciation by giving some love back via a giveaway!

But before I do, I could use just a wee bit more help.

I have been unable to decide which store to get a gift card from. While I was over at the fabulous Susan @ Between Naps on the Porch, I saw her poll and the light bulb *lit*

So here we go! Let me know which store you'd love to win a $50.00 gift card from. The choices are:

Pottery Barn
Home Depot
Target

The poll is located at the top of my left side margin, under the clock. The poll will close on Wednesday, March 31st at Midnight Pacific Time!

I'll post the giveaway details on my April 3rd Pink Saturday Post! Nothing elaborate, I promise.

I can't wait to see which store gets the most votes. I know I'd have a hard time choosing one....that's why I'm running the poll! ha!

Now I know, I could just let the winner decide, but where would the fun be in that?

Try to refrain from voting more than once! ha! :)

Oh! And don't forget to let me know you came by! You don't need to say which you voted for ;)

Cheers!

I FINISHED THE MIRROR PROJECT ~ WANNA SEA?

Ok, a confession first....forgot the bloomin before photo....again! What is wrong with me? (that was rhetorical) ha!

You see, I get so busy gathering all my supplies before I begin my project, I forget to take the before photo. You've done it once or maybe twice...yes? (Lie to me ok! ha!)

So, I'm starting with the back and you need to try to imagine it has definition, okie dokie?!

MYSTERY BLUE SPRAY PAINT REVEALED ~ SUNGLASSES NOT INCLUDED

I have been on a quest to find a good outdoor spray paint in a pretty cottage style color.

I came across one that I haven't tried before. It called to me...Tina, try me...I'm new, I'm sooooo smooth, I have twice more the paint than those other cans.

So I bought it. However, before I use it to paint this....

.....and this....

A MAKEOVER AND A GIVEAWAY

This next makeover almost didn't happen. When I first saw this, I walked right by it. I immediately dismissed it as it wasn't close to what I wanted. A few steps later the light bulb *lit*

I've seen so many tiered trays, some made with vintage china plates, some in silver, some are wired baskets, I'm sure you've seen some of them. I've never seen one that I've fallen in love with that was in my almost non-existent budget.

So this is what I almost passed up last December....

I CANNOT BELIEVE I'M GOING TO DO THIS!

I've lived with this long enough! I can't take it anymore! Something has got to give! I've got to transform this space!!!

WARNING ~ Before you go any further, there will be no instantaneous after photos. I'm sorry to disappoint, but, I'm not one of those type A Superbloggers who say..."oh, btw, I decided to change my space" then *poof* a day later the entire space is 3 feet bigger in each direction with freshly painted walls, stripped and repainted tables, including newly reupholsterd furnishing; all of which they had found the day before at GW for a buck. I admire their talent and their energy. So inspiring. They make ya wanna smack em upside the head with their saftey goggles! ha!

PINK SATURDAY ~ URNS AND ROSES AND LINKS...OH MY!

Happy Pink Saturday everyone! Thank you so much to our wonderful Beverly of How Sweet the Sound for hosting!

I hope everyone is having a lovely pink Saturday!

I have been running about trying to accomplish several things at once. Not too successfully ha! Seems as fast as I go, time is faster. I'm definitely having a white rabbit Saturday! I'm late, I'm late, for my very important pink date....

I'm sure you fellow pinks recall this from last Saturday....

THE HOW TO AQUA TREATMENT tutorial is available here at my How To page.

Here is it filled with loads and loads of pink (faux) roses...

You know my motto, go faux, go big!

I had a few pink roses left over and added a few pink hydrangeas, pulled out another one of my favorite urns and...voila!

You recall my Michaels steal of a deal vase that I filled with pink cherry blossoms, it normally hangs in front of the large window in my dining room.

Since all the light is behind it, it doesn't show well in photos, see...

Side note: My blanc de blanc staffordshire like cats flanking the arrangement were given a lite sanding, one coat of Kilz primer/sealer (spray can), two coats of American Standard Blossom White (spray can) and a high gloss finish (spray can).

I put the cherry blossoms over here for a better photo....

See my little living room, I'm dying to paint that knotty pine armoire french blue and get a slip cover for the sofa....but that's another post!

Now, I came across another blogger who has an absolutely darling blog. She is Sandy Foster of My Shabby Streamside Studio.

Photo Courtesy of My Shabby Streamside Studio

Isn't her studio fabulous?! Wait until you see her blog! You definitely should pay a visit and have a look around. Her blog is so very pinkalicious! Be sure to say hello for me if you will. ;)

Ok you pink darlings, I'm dashing off....

.....to visit fabulous pink participants and their beautiful pinks for Beverly's Pink Saturday!

Thanks so much for spending some time with me! I hope you enjoyed your visit!

Cheers!
