PROJECTS PROJECTS PROJECTS!

Happy New Year everyone! My apologies for taking so long to wish you a wonderful new year full of joy and prosperity!

First, my update:

I have been tweaking my blog page. I've changed the background to blue to reflect the winter season. Also, I wanted to make it easier to navigate so I added some navigation buttons below the header and moved some things around on the side bar. Hope you like it!

My son was home from college for the holidays. Was so great to have him back home for a while. Thanks to ML King's b-day holiday, he was able to stay for my birthday on Sunday and go back to college on Monday. Yep, I'm a Cappy...who is a year older *sigh* ha!

As you have heard from other Northern Californians, the weather here has been horrid. I love the rain, just not to the point of feeling that I should be building a boat!

Despite the bad weather, I ventured out to see the film It's Complicated.

It's been ages since I've seen a film that made me laugh out loud as I did. So much in that film I could relate to, with exception to the sleeping with the ex bit. For you baby boomers out there, this is a MUST see...for BOTH men and women! I say baby boomers as I seriously doubt my daughter (who is 30) could relate to this film as I did, but I'm sure it can give her generation some insight to their parents!

PROJECTS! PROJECTS!

I've also been busy making some charming things...like some decorative tassels for spring....

I've had these cute little ceramic cherubs for some time now. This pretty in pink ceramic cherub is perfecto for Valentines, yes?! She has a trail of pink acrylic faceted hearts, too cute! This next blue and white tassel is too cute in polka dots....

Another adorable ceramic cherub in yellow and green, too cute with the green pom poms....

I will be listing those on etsy in the next few days (waiting for blue skies so I can get some clearer photos.)

What I WON'T be listing on etsy is this creation of mine. A heart shaped wreath filled with lots of vintage and some newer pink buttons...

I won't be listing it because I dropped it. It broke in three places *wahhhh*

Too bad, the back came out so pretty too. I now have a broken heart *sniffle* (All together everyone....ahhhhhhhh!)*giggle*

Several projects have been on hold because of the weather. Can't sand or paint until it stops raining.

I did some makeover prep work on a pair of ceramic cherub lamps I picked up from GW several months back. Here is the before of one of the lamps...

I will be improving the hardware and possibly adding some crystal drops.

Sometimes when you take things apart, you get a nice suprise like this....

It's stamped "Make in Italy" and the sticker is numbered 204/9. You'll have to stay tuned to see the finish yet; sorry....blame it on the rain!

Not going to tell you what I will be doing to them after they are primed. I know, totally wicked tease; but I can say it won't involve antique china mosaic bits (heehee).

I have more, but the weather is really slowing down the progress on a all projects involving sanding and priming. I promise you'll get the full tutorial when it's finished....with lots of photos!

In the meantime I've been visiting (lurking? ha!) bloggerville and have enjoyed seeing your creative and beautiful holiday decor as well as your latest projects! And I've found some new blogs to lurk..I mean look at as well ha!

TTFN! Cheers!

Hello Tina...Loved the new mosaic header. Very beautiful. And the little button heart was a show-stopper. You have been very busy, indeed. Guess a lot of places are having tons and tons of rain. In New England, it's snow and cold, still. Take care. Nice to hear from you! Sincerely, Susan from writingstraightfromtheheart.blogspot.com

So far, we haven't lost power. Thank God. Because then, our basement will fill up with water. I hope tomorrow is better! Thanks for following me. --Delores

Hi Tina,
Happy Birthday!!! I just posted myself since before Christmas, so you're not alone. I've been watching the news about all the rain you have been getting. What a mess on top of the summer fires you had. Hopefully this will pass quickly.
Your new look and tassels are FAB.

Happy Birthday to you!!

I LOVE the button wreath….so cute!!!! I just made a Valentine’s Day wreath out of cupcake liners (I can’t take credit for it though. I saw it on someone’s blog). Valentine’s décor is so fun.
My cousin lives in Cali; I’ve heard ALL about the rain :o)

Happy Birthday! My husband and I loved, loved, loved It's Complicated. I know that the reviewers hate that all of Nancy Myers' movies are beautifully designed (wealthy, well-dressed and well-fed) but that is what I love, love, love about them. If I wanted to see a kitchen sink filled with dishes and a chubby middle aged lady sitting in the corner of her sofa wearing pajamas I could ..... never mind.

I could watch It's Complicated with the sound off.

Thank you so much for stopping by my place and leaving your comment!

I was thinking about you recently wondering what you have been up to. For the most part I was MIA during the holidays and slowly coming back into my blogging routine. Was going to pop in to see what you have been doing and surprise...there you were this morning! Love all your new creations with sweet details on each. ;-(sorry 'bout the boo-boo on that beautiful button heart.
Also thought the before/after on the reindeer was fab!
Pretty new background too.

The rain has been something else this year, but I have to say a very welcome change, we needed it so. We are on the same page, tassel page, aren't they just addicting??? Your tassels are so pretty and I love the one with the penguin on ice, he is adorable. Great job, Happy Pink Saturday, Char
