BARGIN HUNTING & $50.00 TARGET STORE GIVEAWAY

I hope everyone had a lovely Easter! The weather was horrid here, windy and raining buckets. We've had loads more rain the past 2 weeks, it's definitely messing up my furniture painting schedule.

So no furniture to show you yet. But a bit of progress on the living room project.

On one raining day I stopped into Joanne's fabric and found this in their remnants aisle....

It's a soft bluish/grey, looks more grey in the photo. It's Waverly, but I don't know the pattern name...wish I did. There was only just over 2yrds and marked down from $29.99 per yard to $14.99.

It is perfect for this ottoman that stole my heart...

I'm thinking no way will I find this ottoman ready made, so I'll have to make one.

I've been searching for the legs, the rest should be easy to find, now that I have the fabric *happy dance*. If you come across similar legs on ebay or whatnot, please let me know...I'll love you forever!

Now if I can just find the fabric for the slipcover I want for the sofa. This is the style that makes my heart go pitter-pat....

Love those pleates! I love everything about that slipcover. I'm definitely a casual but tailored gal.

I so wish I knew what type of fabric that is. If you know, pleaseeeee tell me! ;)

I did finish a few more layouts for the page header library for my online venture with my son. Here's a peek at one....

I'm working on a Christmas version. You can see more here

  2. Hi Tina~ I love the fabric that you found and the ottoman is amazing. I wonder if you couldn't take several different wooden elements and put them together to make the legs that you want. Check out Lowe's, Home Depot or whatever home center is near you. I have seen some pretty fancy finials and spindles at home centers, just a thought.
Thanks for stopping by my blog and becoming a follower. I have been browsing your blog for a few minutes now and I'll certainly be following you, I love your blog. It is so pretty with some amazing photos. : ) Keep us updated on the ottoman.

  5. Hi Tina:
Would love to know what fabric you end up for that white chair as I have that same picture as an inspiration for a sofa.

  7. I used to get the legs for making my tuffets off ebay. I'd also look at furniture that is at thrift stores and yard sales ~ for their legs. I think that fabric is either a waffle weave or a seersucker {I'm leaning toward waffle weave more though}. I always check out Joann's remnant area. They have some great pieces sometimes, especially for smaller type projects.

  8. Oh tina, that fabric you found is gorgeous! I have two wood ottoman frames that I need to redo sometime. they were...ummm..dumpster dives. But, they are in pretty good shape. No seat to them, just the bottom frame.

    Have a great day!

  9. Hi Tina,
I love the slip cover too! the pleats are delightful for sure. I have made dinning room chair slip covers but never a "real chair" slip cover.
I can't wait to see your ottoman re-covered.
I have been wanting a new header, I will have to see what you have come up with.
Take care and enjoy your day,
P.S. Please put my name into the hat, what a wonderful giveaway!.

  19. Tina I am loving that fabric too! Your having to find legs reminds me of a little stool I picked up a few years ago that only has 3 of 4 legs- I am still trying to find the perfect legs for it too!
