A fractured fairy tale or...to trash or to transform!
Turbert the Tureen never said "don't touch"
Off his crown flew from Turbert the Tureen
Even with all her epoxy and glue
His broken crown she couldn't renew
Oh poor, poor little Tina what was she to do?
Her adored Turbert no longer had his crown
Sad, sad Tina, she was so down
How could she ever turn this tradegy around?
Well darling, when life gives one chicken poopoo...
make a fabulous chicken salad, of course! ;)
Next time something crashes miserably into pieces,
transform it's beauty, it's value increases.
And now my darlings, my tale, it ceases.
(back away from the rhyme website Tina!) lol!
When they say hardwood floor...they mean HARD wood floor! ha!
I've had that tureen....well, forever.
Farewell poor Turbert the Tragic Tureen, for now I have gorgeous Jasper the Jardiniere. Cest la vie!
Hope you are having a lovely week!

Too bad about your tureen.
ReplyDeleteHowever, now you have it out all done up with flowers and a new found use.
You might enjoy finding unexpected treasures to place in there...for something fresh!
I am sorry the tureen lid was broken, but....good save!
ReplyDeleteThats great. Jasper is much more handsome. Do you not think? Thanks for the smiles.
ReplyDeleteHELLO CREATIVE TINA...HAHA
ReplyDeleteIM SORRY ABOUT YOUR WELL LOVED TUREEN, BUT SHE TURNED OUT BEAUTIFUL WITH THE FLOWERS, I LOVE IT, SMART COOKIE YOU ARE :)
Awww I hate when that happens but you have the right attitude! Make it beautiful and useful elsewhere!
ReplyDeleteHi Tina! You're a fabulous success, in cleaning up that mess!(lol) Seriously, you did a beautiful job and thanks for the positive thought and cheer on this lovely spring morning! Karen
ReplyDeleteI buy chipped pieces often. Even have a cute cookie jar with no a broken lid... Yes, I purchased it that way because it was too gorgeous not too.
ReplyDeleteLove your white florals!
Di
The Blue Ridge Gal
it looks sooo pretty with the flowers..and another good thing, now you can go on the hunt for a new one!
ReplyDeleteGreat solution! Coming over from the Shabby Chic Cottage and a happy new follower. I love anyone who can make lemonade outta lemons!
ReplyDeleteJeanine
Dear Tina:
ReplyDeleteThanks for the tale of Turbert who broke his crown.
It could have been an ending that really put Tina down.
But being the creative girl you are
You did what others wouldn't dare.
You turned that broken Turbert
Into Jardiniere!
Now, instead of chicken "poo poo,"
YOu have a Jasper "foo foo."
Good for you! Sincerely, Susan (lol)
Tina! Bless your heart...I could just feel the horror as the lid was falling...argh!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tureen though it was, it is still beautiful with the white flowers! I love your rhyme, it made the tragic story have a happy ending!
Blessings!
Doni
Isn't it too bad someone didn't rescue Humpty Dumpty by sticking some flowers in his head??
ReplyDeleteOh, that looks wonderful~! Yes, never throw anything like that out there is always something you can do with it.
ReplyDeleteDarn....I'm so sorry you broke old Turbert...but happy to see he is EVER so cute as a vase. LOVE it.
ReplyDeleteHuggies,
Spencer
That was hysterical!
ReplyDeleteYou know - no one's going to see the inside of the lid. If it's porcelain use epoxy or Crazy Glue, if stoneware use Elmer's, and tape the cracks with duct tape!
I take with me your live and let live cheerful resolution!

Well done! all the way around, great save

What a great transformation.Amazing what you can do for something that broke. That more likely to recycle your pretty stuffs. Love it. Great tip too! Have a good week. Nancy
ReplyDeleteGood for you!! Sometimes these mishaps do turn out better than we can anticipate! Great life lesson too!
ReplyDeletePam
I am sad for your tureen... LOL but thank you for the smile... and it sure is beautiful in it's new job description
ReplyDeleteWhat a great attitude you have!! The flowers look lovely in the tureen. Something that really caught my eye is your beautiful black and white tassels on the side of your blog - they're great!
ReplyDeleteStop by Pandora's Box to enter a giveaway! ~patti~
I love the rhyme! It looks even better with the flowers nestled in it! Great job
ReplyDeleteSee all things really do happen for a reason....the tureen looks wonderful with the flowers...such personality!...
ReplyDeleteCute post!!! Sorry about your tureen. I had the same thing happen to one of my tea pots. I turned it into a vase as well.
ReplyDeleteTurbert looks so much happier now!!
ReplyDeleteGood for you making lemonade from life's lemons:-)
Tracey
great post, both the lesson and the transformed project!
ReplyDeleteGreat story...happy that she found a new life:)
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Linda
am sorry about your tureen, but hey, a tureen without a lid looks pretty too, if one knows how to decorate with it!..
ReplyDeletehave a good weekend
love it, love it, love it!! It hits the spot for me, Tina. I was in my craft room last week and somehow lost the beautiful top to a glass apothacary jar. I'm still finding pieces on the floor to it. I haven't even shown it to ya'll yet and he's lost his top hat. lol
ReplyDeleteWonderful post so creative!
ReplyDeleteThat rhyme is so cool! And so is the transformed tureen :-)
ReplyDeleteThat's too cute...but you are so right...when an accident occurs if you can keep you head. ou can usually turn it into something fabulous that you never would have thought of other wise.
ReplyDeleteI know the feeling--I just broke one of my favorite antique ironstone platters. It's not like they're 15 more in the china hutch, it's that you broke one of them you loved. I've saved my broken pieces and plan to make a mosaic tray or something of that nature! It was a HUGE 18" platter so I'll have to come up with an even bigger way to continue to love it!
ReplyDeleteI think I just might like it even better full of flowers!
ReplyDeleteGreat post! Your blog is lovely, Tina!
ReplyDeleteHope your week is off to a great start!!
Hi Tina,
ReplyDeleteJust popping in to say Hello and to wish you a fabulous week and great weather.♥
You definitely know how to transform anything as far as I've seen..I finally made it over to a Hobby Lobby and got so distracted by some crowns that I found that I forgot to look for the Robin's Egg blue spray paint! Oh well...another reason to go back. :0)
It's Mosaic Monday at my place if you'd like to come take a peek.
Hugs,
Stephanie ♥
You know, if possible, it is even MORE beautiful now!!! Great attitude, too, Tina!
ReplyDeleteBig TX Hugs,
Stephanie

When you get lemons...make lemonade..always been my motto! :) So, did you think of anything creative to do with the lid? lol I figured you made a mosaic or something...you're so crafty! :)
ReplyDeleteI stopped in to tell you I'm having a giveaway if you'd like to come check it out. CUTE GOODIES! :) Feel free to tell your friends..the more the merrier!
Have a blessed day!
Melissa
My tureen cover for my Apple Franciscanware broke over 30 years ago. What a dark day since it totally shattered and was unfixable. You have made your tureen so beautiful just simply by rethinking its use.
ReplyDeleteOh Tina, poor Turbert :-( But what a beautiful transformation. He now has a new look, use and life as Jasper the Jardiniere. Hurray! It looks fantabulous my friend. Cute post...Loved it! Have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteHugs and Kisses,
♥Ana
Ha! Ha! I loved the rhyme and the story....I think it looks more beautiful now!
ReplyDeleteGreat post, Tina! I can't believe you even wrote a rhyme! Love it!
ReplyDeleteVery smart!
ReplyDeletehave a great week end my dear.
Gros bisous
Frenchy
That is gorgeous. I have an antique potty with no lid and I think it could come out of the water closet and into the living room with this arrangement!!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute poem about your tureen. Looks great with the flowers. Wanted to ask you, do you make blog buttons. I need one made from my header and will pay whatever. I cannot do it myself.
ReplyDeleteThanks,
Kim
Hi Tina,
ReplyDeleteCute story and so creative! I thought maybe you had made a mosaic out of it, but when I saw the flowers I said " now that's a great idea and so pretty"
I have enjoyed catching up with you today.
Take care,
Elizabeth
Cute story and post love what you did with the taureen -great idea!Have a great day.Sincerely, Jonny
ReplyDeleteBonjour Tina,
ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea, and love all your rhyming verse. Just found you beautiful blog via The Stylish House and will become a follower.
Happy week to you,
Mimmi
Tina, what a sad tail, but glad you could give it a happy ending. It's so frustrating to break a long admired piece of china or pottery. One's heart sinks! You definitely made this into a happy ending though. Turbert looks quite content with the new roll. Oh, and by the way, you are definitely a talented poet!
ReplyDeleteStill holding my gift card. Need some time to drive out to a Target. Hope to do that in the next week or so. I'm so thrilled to have won your generous gift. I'll let you and the others in Blogville know what I come home with. :-)
Hope you are having a delightful weekend. ~ Sarah
Tina, you definitely made chicken salad because this looks so great!
ReplyDeleteGood job!
Hope all is well in your world. I had a bit of a tumble myself, and I am pretty sore. Fortunately, my top didn't break, but it's a miracle it didn't. ;-)
XO,
Sheila :-)
What a cute little story...the tureen looks just beautiful:)
ReplyDeleteAww, that poor tureen...but she looks beautiful without her top and filled with flowers! Stunning!
ReplyDeleteSweet Tina....
ReplyDeleteAre you OK??? No posts for sooo long.
Thinking of you.

ReplyDeleteGod Bless;
Hugs;

Tina...I'm sooo sorry that happened! I want to sit down and cry when I break things. You had such a great attitude and idea...love the new look!
ReplyDeleteyour creamy tureen is beautiful..it had a mind of it's own asking you in it's own unique way it was time for it to take on a new life. I see a lot of potential...not only does it embrace your beautiful flowers but..it can hug soft fluffy white hand towels...chuncky soap...hold ice for a romantic dinner for two or even roll some magazines a place on a reading table. The uses are endless!
