Welcome everyone! Thank you to Susan at Between Naps on the Porch for hosting this weekly event! My contribution this week is not of my own creation, but something I've been trying to do. If you of you have any ideas, please please *fluttering eyelashes* please helppppp! I would like to create this centerpiece for a special dinner.
I probably should have taken pictures of my total failures but I could not face the shame! lol
I have the tall thin glass vases, it's the getting it to look beautiful that I'm have a wee bit of trouble with. The other barrier I hit was that I couldn't find floating candles. I went all over! So if you have any suggestions where I might find some I'd really appreciate it!
I love this look, so shimmery and elegant. I was experimenting with different colors and materials. The white is pretty for weddings, anniversaries, new year's eve, etc. But I wanted to compliment the seasons, I want some color. I love the combination of the flowers and the candles.
Again, any helpful hints will greatly appreciated!

I don't think there's a way to keep fresh flowers from becoming water logged. Have you thought of trying silk flowers instead? Some may bleed color but if you stay with light colored flowers it should not be a problem.
ReplyDeleteWow, that's tough...it looks like some gravel/rocks in the bottom of the vase...maybe they used a fairly stiff but thin wire for the "strand" of flowers and anchored it in the gravel...it's hard to tell...good luck

ReplyDeleteI love all the shimmering in the first picture and the lovely roses inthe second one. I have to join the rest because I have no clue how to do to do either one but I would go to your local craft store with the pictures and let them figure it out. "When in doubt, ASK"--that's my motto. hello, I live the centerpiece,seems like they have a weight attached to the bottom which is held with (Maybe) fishing line? and some beads covering the string which is attached to the candle to make the flowers float.Maria
