My son is back on campus and left me with a long Mama-do list.

Instead of starting on his list, I decided I needed material for my Pink Saturday post...and lookie what I won't be posting this coming Saturday!

THE SAGA OF PAINTIN PLACE PART 1

He's home! He's home! My son is home for spring break!

He promised to help me with some projects! I have so many things I want to do (as you well know ha!). I can't wait to get started!

Sooooo, let's play where's Monkey Head Fred (my nickname for him, he's on the fence about it....wonder if it's cause his name isn't Fred ha!

A SHABBY PINK SATURDAY MORNING IN BED & THRIFTY FINDS

Good morning, Pinkettes & savvy bargin hunters! Today I thought it would be fun to share how I spend most (Pink) Saturday mornings with you.

I hop out of bed, (yep, I hop, I'm a morning person) ha!

I FINISHED THE MIRROR PROJECT ~ WANNA SEA?

Ok, a confession first....forgot the bloomin before photo....again! What is wrong with me? (that was rhetorical) ha!

You see, I get so busy gathering all my supplies before I begin my project, I forget to take the before photo. You've done it once or maybe twice...yes? (Lie to me ok! ha!)

So, I'm starting with the back and you need to try to imagine it has definition, okie dokie?!

MYSTERY BLUE SPRAY PAINT REVEALED ~ SUNGLASSES NOT INCLUDED

I have been on a quest to find a good outdoor spray paint in a pretty cottage style color.

I came across one that I haven't tried before. It called to me...Tina, try me...I'm new, I'm sooooo smooth, I have twice more the paint than those other cans.

So I bought it. However, before I use it to paint this....

A MAKEOVER AND A GIVEAWAY

This next makeover almost didn't happen. When I first saw this, I walked right by it. I immediately dismissed it as it wasn't close to what I wanted. A few steps later the light bulb *lit*

I've seen so many tiered trays, some made with vintage china plates, some in silver, some are wired baskets, I'm sure you've seen some of them. I've never seen one that I've fallen in love with that was in my almost non-existent budget.

So this is what I almost passed up last December....

I CANNOT BELIEVE I'M GOING TO DO THIS!

I've lived with this long enough! I can't take it anymore! Something has got to give! I've got to transform this space!!!

WARNING ~ Before you go any further, there will be no instantaneous after photos. I'm sorry to disappoint, but, I'm not one of those type A Superbloggers who say..."oh, btw, I decided to change my space" then *poof* a day later the entire space is 3 feet bigger in each direction with freshly painted walls, stripped and repainted tables, including newly reupholsterd furnishing; all of which they had found the day before at GW for a buck. I admire their talent and their energy. So inspiring. They make ya wanna smack em upside the head with their saftey goggles! ha!

PINK SATURDAY ~ URNS AND ROSES AND LINKS...OH MY!

I have been running about trying to accomplish several things at once. Not too successfully ha! Seems as fast as I go, time is faster. I'm definitely having a white rabbit Saturday! I'm late, I'm late, for my very important pink date....


I'm sure you fellow pinks recall this from last Saturday....

Here is it filled with loads and loads of pink (faux) roses...


You know my motto, go faux, go big!

I had a few pink roses left over and added a few pink hydrangeas, pulled out another one of my favorite urns and...voila!



You recall my Michaels steal of a deal vase that I filled with pink cherry blossoms, it normally hangs in front of the large window in my dining room.

Since all the light is behind it, it doesn't show well in photos, see...


Side note: My blanc de blanc staffordshire like cats flanking the arrangement were given a lite sanding, one coat of Kilz primer/sealer (spray can), two coats of American Standard Blossom White (spray can) and a high gloss finish (spray can).

I put the cherry blossoms over here for a better photo....


See my little living room, I'm dying to paint that knotty pine armoire french blue and get a slip cover for the sofa....but that's another post!
